In this agreement the “EfS Professional Learning Hub” and “the Hub” refers to the administration of the EfS Professional Learning Hub that is administered by the Department of Environment and Climate Change. The EfS Professional Learning Hub is the online portal for sustainability educators, professional development and training service providers, and other specialised associations or agencies.
Acceptance of the terms of use
Your use of the EfS Professional Learning Hub constitutes your agreement to the following terms, conditions, and notices.
Communication services
The EfS Professional Learning Hub site may provide a range of Communication Services, including calendar of events, service provider directory, publications, media library, funding and awards information, and/or other message or communication facilities designed to enable you to communicate with the public at large or with a targeted group.
While the EfS Professional Learning Hub believes that these Communication Services are an ideal way of learning more about the diversity of public views and opinions on contemporary issues, the generally unrestricted nature of the internet could potentially lead to the discussions and chat sessions being abused or misused by some people. Accordingly, it is a condition of use of the Communication Services that you agree only to post, send and receive messages and material that are proper and related to the particular Communication Service. By way of example, and not as a limitation, you agree that when using a Communication Service you will not:
- defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others;
- publish, post, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful topic, name, material or information;
- upload files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws (or by rights of privacy or publicity) unless you own or control these rights or have received all necessary consents;
- upload files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operations of another’s computer;
- falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded;
- restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Communication Services;
- harvest or otherwise collect information about others, including email addresses, without their consent;
- violate any applicable laws or regulations.
Site moderators
To facilitate the free exchange of public opinion and at the same time monitor any potentially disruptive or undesirable input, the EfS Professional Learning Hub website is moderated by officers from the Department of Environment and Climate Change (Community Education Section). The Moderators will approve all content submitted for public display in the site within 7 - 14 days of submission.
The Moderators have the right to:
- refuse, or remove from the site, material submitted by a user which in the moderator’s opinion tends to incite violence, racial hatred or intolerance against any group in our society, or which in the moderator’s opinion may constitute a defamatory statement, an infringement of copyright or a breach of any other law;
- contact, and/or cancel the registration of, any user who in the moderator’s reasonable opinion has failed to observe, or is otherwise acting in a manner inconsistent with, the principles and objectives of the EfS Professional Learning Hub site; and
- edit, abridge, amend or otherwise alter any material submitted to the EfS Professional Learning Hub site for publication. In the event that the moderator edits, abridges, amends or otherwise alters a user’s submitted material, the user shall (whenever possible) be advised accordingly and given the opportunity to withdraw the information from publication.
You are advised to always use caution when giving out any personal information about yourself, your clients or your students in any Communication Service. The EfS Professional Learning Hub does not control or endorse the content, messages or information found in any Communication Service and disclaims any liability with regard to the Communication Services and any actions resulting from your participation in any Communication Service.
Materials uploaded to a Communication Service offered by the EfS Professional Learning Hub may be subject to posted limitations on usage, reproduction and/or dissemination. You are responsible for adhering to such limitations if you download the materials.
No unlawful or prohibited use
As a condition of your use of the EfS Professional Learning Hub, you warrant to the EfS Professional Learning Hub that you will not use the EfS Professional Learning Hub for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions and notices. You may not use the EfS Professional Learning Hub in any manner which could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the EfS Professional Learning Hub or interfere with any other party’s use and enjoyment of the EfS Professional Learning Hub. You may not obtain or attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not intentionally made available or provided for through the EfS Professional Learning Hub.

Use of material submitted
The EfS Professional Learning Hub will not sell material submitted by registered users and will list your materials with full acknowledgement.
The EfS Professional Learning Hub will make every effort to include materials submitted. However, issues of privacy, copyright, quality and integrity have priority.
