Case study: project officer, sustainability education (state government)

 



Purpose of the role

This role helps to collaboratively develop, implement and evaluate capacity building projects and programs in the field of sustainable education through providing administrative, research, planning, written and communications support.

Core responsibilities

  • Liaise with stake holders to establish and maintain networks.
  • Assist in the design, development and implementation of sustainability related projects to assist educators and stake holders.
  • Undertake targeted initial research and analyse project development.
  • Prepare briefings, advice and correspondence for consideration by senior staff, government and other agencies.
  • Develop cooperative arrangements to promote the adoption of environmental sustainability.


Skills and knowledge required

  • Tertiary education in environmental studies and/or communications, management or other related field. 
  • Developing and delivering projects.
  • Community education.
  • Understanding of a broad range of environment and sustainability issues.
  • Management of relationships between government and non-government agencies.
